Logo system design for Medlar Coffee Co. They opened shop is in a historic 1921 Mission-style building built as a photography studio by Frank W. Medlar. Honoring Medlar’s legacy, they wanted a logo based on the beautiful tile building sign. I knew they also needed a wide logo and I found a photo with Medlar’s name & monogram across the bottom. Inspired by the caligraphy, I made a custom wordmark that better matches the era of the tall logo & M-drop. I’m proud to be a part of this design for my hometown, Spencer, IA. I really enjoy designs that dig into history like this. / 2022
